Methods to Fix QuickBooks Error 1722
Method One
- Start Windows and then press Start button
- Type in System Restore in the box and press enter
- Click on system restore option and enter password if a password is required
- Follow steps in the window that opens
- Restore computer, reboot and relaunch QuickBooks to see if error is resolved.
Method Two
Reinstall QuickBooks:
- Launch control panel, select programs and then programs and features and locate programs and files associated with QuickBooks error 1722 and click on the associated entry.
- Select uninstall at the top bar and follow steps to uninstall the error related program.
- Then reinstall QuickBooks.
Method Three
System file checker:
- Press start and type command in the search box. Press and hold shift and control keys at the same time and then press enter key which will open a permission dialog box in which you click yes.
- A command prompt window opens where you type in sfc/scan now and press enter
- The system file checker launches and if error is found it gives you prompts to follow.
- Exit the window.
- Close Windows and restart computer and then launch QuickBooks to see if error is resolved.
Method Four

- Scan your PC and delete temporary files and folders
- Install Windows updates or perform clean installation of Windows followed by clean installation of QuickBooks.

Method Five
QuickBooks needs Microsoft .NET framework. If the .NET framework is corrupt or not installed properly you could get error 1722. Try these steps.
- Download and run QuickBooks install diagnostic tool, which should fix the problem. If there is a .NET framework error then do the following.
- Launch Windows 7 and then control panel and then choose Uninstall a program and then turn windows features on or off. If .NET framework checkbox is not ticked then tick it and reboot computer. If it is already enabled, uncheck it, reboot the system and then go to control panel and then re-enable .NET framework and then reboot computer again.
- You should have Microsoft .NET framework 4.5 or later. If it is not there on the list you may need to download and install it from Microsoft site. If it is there but it is corrupted follow next steps for repair.
- Select Microsoft .NET framework 4.5 and click uninstall/change and then select repair and click on next. Follow steps.
- Reboot system and launch QuickBooks. If successfully repaired then the error will not show.
